The Amasaman Divisional Police Command is investigating a disturbing case involving the alleged disappearance of five children who were reportedly taken from Prince Legend Preparatory School at Ablekuma under suspicious circumstances.
According to an official incident report filed by Mary Dedaa Omari, a resident of Ablekuma, her children, Maame Adwoa Gyemfua Ansong (11), Nana Kwame Koranteng Ansong (9), Nana Kwadwo Ankomah Ansong (8), Maame Yaa Obiri Yeboah Ansong (5), and Nana Kwadwo Ansong (7 months), left home on July 14, 2025, for school but were later taken away by unidentified boys riding motorbikes.
The headmaster of the school, Prince Owusu, confirmed to police that around 2:30 p.m., five boys arrived at the school on motorbikes, claiming they had been sent by the children’s mother to pick them up. Suspicious of the claim, the headmaster called Mrs. Omari for verification. However, before she could arrive, the boys reportedly sped off with the children to an unknown destination.
Police investigators visited the scene, questioned witnesses, and obtained a statement from the headmaster. Preliminary investigations indicate that Mrs. Omari, a businesswoman residing at Nsakina, frequently picks up her children personally or sends a taxi for them, always notifying the school ahead of time. On the day of the incident, there was no such prior communication, raising doubts about the legitimacy of the boys’ claim.
Authorities have described the circumstances as suspicious and are intensifying efforts to trace the children and identify the individuals involved in their disappearance.
The Amasaman Divisional Criminal Investigation Department (CID), led by DSP Stephen P. Dapaah, has urged the public to assist with any information that could help locate the missing children and bring the perpetrators to justice.
